Dr. Markku Iljina, the founder of the company has 30 years’ post-graduation experience in mineral exploration and geological research. Experience includes supervision of field operations, planning and conducting of exploration projects 3-5 years in duration, conducting and participation in international research and mining community related projects. Past employers and hosting organisations include major Finnish mining and metals house Outokumpu Oy, Geological Survey of Finland, and private sector actors. Geographical experience outside of Finland includes: Australia, NW Russia, and neighbouring countries Sweden and Norway. Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and other commodities related to mafic and ultramafic igneous rocks have formed the key area of interest.

The above experience forms the basis for strong geological knowledge of Fennoscandian geology and a specialization in gold, nickel, copper, vanadium, chrome, tungsten, and PGM mineral deposits and their exploration. Key services are planning and supervision of exploration operations, particularly related to exploration targeting.

Experience in professional communities and social relationships has been gained through co-chairmanship in an IGCP project #479, leadership of ‘Active Mining Regions Group’ of the project ‘European Network of Mining Regions’, and leadership in the project ‘Strategic Mineral Resources of Lapland – A Base for the Sustainable Development of the North’.

Dr. Markku Iljina holds the European Geologist title thus engaged in performing his duties according to highest professional and ethical principles.
